How Much Does Flower Preservation Cost in the UK?

If you’re considering preserving your wedding flowers or funeral flowers, one of the first questions you’re likely to have is: how much does flower preservation cost?

There isn’t one set price for flower preservation because every order is different. The amount and type of flowers you have, the size of the keepsake you choose, the amount of detail involved and whether you want multiple pieces can all affect the final cost.

At Nogard Creations, we create bespoke flower preservation pieces using your own flowers, with options ranging from smaller keepsakes to larger statement pieces.

How much does flower preservation cost?

Flower preservation prices can vary considerably depending on what you would like created.

Small keepsakes can be a more affordable way to preserve a few petals or flowers, while larger pieces containing more of your flowers will naturally cost more.

For example, flower preservation can include:

  • Resin coasters
  • Keyrings
  • Bookmarks
  • Hanging hearts
  • Ring dishes
  • Jewellery dishes
  • Tealight holders
  • Resin hearts
  • Spheres
  • Display blocks
  • Photo frames
  • Bespoke framed flower displays
  • Larger statement pieces

This means you can choose something that suits both your flowers and your budget.

What affects the price of flower preservation?

There are several things that can affect the cost of preserving flowers.

1. The size of the piece

A small keepsake requires considerably less material than a large resin display.

For example, preserving a few petals in a small keepsake will generally cost less than creating a large piece containing a substantial amount of your wedding or funeral flowers.

2. The amount of flowers being preserved

You don’t necessarily need to preserve your entire arrangement.

Some clients choose to preserve just a few of their most meaningful flowers, while others want to incorporate as much of their original flowers as possible.

The number and size of flowers you want included can therefore influence which preservation pieces are suitable.

3. The type of keepsake

Different types of preservation require different amounts of materials, preparation and finishing.

A small resin keyring is very different from a large bespoke display piece, for example.

This is why it is usually more useful to look at the individual preservation pieces available rather than expecting one price for flower preservation as a whole.

How much does wedding flower preservation cost?

Wedding flower preservation is particularly varied because every wedding bouquet is different.

You might want to preserve a few flowers as small keepsakes for yourself and family members, or you may want a larger display containing a significant part of your wedding flowers.

Some couples choose several smaller pieces so that different family members can have their own keepsake.

Others choose one larger statement piece to display at home.

There is no requirement to preserve the entire bouquet, so you can choose the option that feels right for you.

How much does funeral flower preservation cost?

Funeral flower preservation can also be created in a range of different ways.

You may have flowers from a funeral arrangement, sympathy flowers or flowers that have particular sentimental meaning.

A small keepsake can preserve a few petals or flowers, while a larger resin or framed piece can create a more substantial memorial display.

For memorial flower preservation, the sentimental value is often more important than the size of the finished piece. Even a small amount of flowers can be enough to create something meaningful.

Do I have to spend a certain amount?

No. At Nogard Creations, there is no minimum order requirement.

You can choose a small keepsake if that is all you need, or select a larger bespoke piece if you want to preserve more of your flowers.

We also offer a £50 booking deposit for clients who want to secure their preservation with us.

The deposit is not the full cost of your preservation order. Your final choices can be made after your flowers have been dried, meaning you don’t have to decide exactly what you want before your flowers arrive.

Do I need to know what I want before sending my flowers?

Not necessarily.

This is something that can make flower preservation feel complicated when you’re first looking into it.

You may have a general idea of what you like, but you don’t have to know exactly which piece you want before sending your flowers.

Once your flowers have gone through the drying process, you’ll have a better idea of what you have available to work with. You can then choose from the preservation options available.

This can be particularly helpful if you’re unsure whether you want a small keepsake or something larger.

Can I preserve flowers without booking in advance?

Yes.

One of the things that makes our flower preservation service different is that you do not have to pre-book your flowers with us.

If you’ve recently got married or have flowers from a funeral that you would like to preserve, you don’t need to have arranged your preservation months in advance.

We accept last-minute preservation requests, subject to our availability and the condition of the flowers.

We also accept flowers by post from across the UK, so you don’t need to live near our Cambridgeshire studio to use our service.

Is flower preservation worth the cost?

For many people, flower preservation isn’t simply about the flowers themselves.

Your wedding flowers can represent one of the most important days of your life. Funeral flowers can carry memories of someone incredibly important to you.

Once the event is over, the flowers themselves are temporary. Preserving them gives you the opportunity to turn part of those flowers into something you can keep for many years.

A small resin keepsake can sit somewhere you see every day, while a larger framed or resin display can become a feature in your home.

There is no right or wrong amount to spend. The most important thing is choosing a piece that feels meaningful to you.

Choosing the right flower preservation piece

If you’re unsure what to choose, start by thinking about how you would like to use or display your preserved flowers.

Would you like something small that you can carry with you?

A keyring or bookmark could be ideal.

Would you like something you can use around your home?

Coasters, ring dishes and tealight holders are practical options.

Would you prefer something that puts your flowers on display?

A resin heart, sphere, display block or framed piece could be more suitable.

And if you have a particular idea that you can’t find on our website, bespoke flower preservation gives you the opportunity to create something much more personal.

Preserving something meaningful

The cost of flower preservation will always depend on the piece you choose, but the value of preserving meaningful flowers isn’t necessarily measured by the size of the finished item.

Whether you’re preserving wedding flowers from your special day or flowers connected to the loss of someone you love, even a small part of those flowers can hold an incredible amount of meaning.

At Nogard Creations, we handcraft each piece using your own flowers, creating a lasting keepsake from something that would otherwise eventually fade away.
