Flower Packaging Instructions

How to package you flowers safely -

You will need-
a sturdy cardboard box no more than 60cm high or the post office will make you use a more expensive service.

For Bouquets

a cardboard florists vase - your florist may stock them or you can buy one on Amazon.
a newspaper
kitchen paper
a sandwich bag
an elastic band

1. Find a box the correct size to fit your bouquet. If it is not quite tall enough you can always chop some off the bottom of the stems. Don't be worried about trimming them it's actually good for the flowers as they will drink better.Make sure the box is not more that 60cms tall or the post office will make you use a more expensive option. Write “FRAGILE FRESH FLOWERS” on the box.

2. Put a cardboard florists vase in the centre of your box. You could improvise with a small box or toilet roll tube for flowers with short stems or single flowers. You can pre purchase one on Amazon if you still have time. If you have this organised before your wedding then they can go straight in them as soon as the big day is finished to keep them from bruising.
Alternatively  if your flowers are set in oasis you can send them in this, water them then wrap the bottom in a plastic bag to prevent leakage.

3. Screw up newspaper pages and stuff them around the edges of the box to hold it securely in place. Do not use any bubble wrap or it might make your flowers sweat. If you are including any other keepsakes in the box like confetti or ribbon please place in a sealed bag underneath the newspaper.

4. Wet some kitchen paper and fold it up around the BOTTOM of the stems. Don't just wrap it around the sides. They drink from the bottom. Ensure that the petals remain dry.

5. Put a sandwich bag around the kitchen paper and the bottom of the stems. This stops the water from leaking all over the rest of your box. Use an elastic band to secure the plastic bag in place. Do not put the petals into the bag, they need to remain dry.

6. Put the bouquet carefully into the cardboard vase. It should fit quite snugly and not move around too much. Put some more newspaper in the vase if your bouquet is still wobbly.

7. Pack some more newspaper loosely around the sides and top of the bouquet.

8. Please include your full name, order number and your chosen style of preservation. without this information I cannot match your flowers to your order.

9. Seal the box closed with sellotape and write our address on the box. (Once you have placed your order we will contact you with our address) Please write your postcode and house number in case they fail to deliver and the flowers are returned.
